Coup Sauvage & The Snips
Coup Sauvage and The Snips is a six-member band from Washington, DC serving disco dance realness. Formed in 2011, the band combines the smooth moves of Gladys Knight and her Pips, the sweet harmonies of 60s girl groups, the pageantry of Boney M and the opulence of Pepper La Beija. Members include lead singer Kristina Sauvage, keyboardist Jason Sauvage (aka Hit Factory), bassist Elizabeth Sauvage, and beat conductor Maegan Sauvage. They're backed by background vocalists Crystal Sauvage and Katie Sauvage, known collectively as The Snips. The band brings together folks and freaks from such local institutions as Troll Tax, SheRex, Girls Rock! DC, Downbeat:Beatdown, Capital City Symphony, Paroxysm Records as well as ex-Hott Beat, ex-Mess up the Mess and ex-First Ladies DJ Collective. We’re kind of a supergroup. Deal with it.
