Visual Artist's Guide
Visual Artists Registration Guide
Artists come from all over the DC metropolitan area—and beyond—to participate in Artomatic’s vibrant month-long celebration of the arts.
Artomatic transforms a vacant building into a center for the arts. Artists and community members connect in neighborhoods throughout the DC metro area through this unique arts showcase.
Visual artists exhibit a wide variety of art: painting, photography, collage, assemblage, found art, ceramics, glass, fiber, mixed media, video, furniture, jewelry, sculpture, installation, and more!
Artomatic is not juried. That is, participation is based on a first-come basis and no one needs to see your art in advance. It’s open to all artists 18 and older.
**Orientation and Site Selection are now CLOSED**
You must attend orientation and site selection before you will be able to select a space in the building to exhibit your art.
This session will take between 60-90 minutes. There will be not any other sessions held. Before you complete your registration please make sure you can attend - there are no refunds for the $110 registration fee.
You will need to bring proof of payment, shifts registered, and your registration number with you to the site at the scheduled time. Please make sure your registration is complete before you arrive to Orientation.
Email email@example.com with any questions.
Before registering for Artomatic, take a moment to thoroughly read these guidelines. It’s important to understand how the registration process works and to make sure you complete all of the necessary steps. For visual artists, this process is broken into three parts: online registration, shift selection and on-site site selection. You must complete all parts of this process to participate in Artomatic.

Groups and Artomatic
Artomatic does not set space aside for groups or allow group registration, with a few pre-approved exceptions. The Artomatic mission is to represent individuals and each separate artist must register for the event and come to site selection. If individual artists register at the same time and are assigned to the same site selection time, they can try to choose spaces near one another.
Artists who want to identify with one another may:
- Come up with an identifying label that can be at each artist’s individual space.
- Make maps of where all the members are located and sponsor tours and/or artists' talks.
- Display a Web address or a map showing your members’ locations.
If you need assistance completing your online registration, visit our FAQs. If you can't solve the problem, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
