My photos feature fire art performers from the DC area, notably performers from the troupe Dance Afire and the Playa Del Fuego Fire Conclave. Although lighting objects on fire and blowing things up has been a lifelong passion, the first time I was introduced to fire spinning was at a Guy Fawkes Day celebration in a London park in 2003. Capturing images of fire performers is an ever evolving challenge and from that point on I was hooked. In addition to capturing images of others while they perform, I've begun to pick up the tools of the art as well.
