My exhibit features a 3-wheeled all electric run-a-bout.
The machine is almost entirely made out of PVC plastic.
The batteries are installed in the central tube of the vehicle.
The vehicle has a mechanism that allows the front to tilt into corners in order to reduce side "G" forces in
much the same manner that a boat, motorcycle or airplane tilts as it turns.
The vehicle is covered with images created with a technique that uses a flatbed scanner as the recording
instrument. The subject matter as well as the scanner move independently and arbitrarily .
Philip Foss
I've spent many years obsessed with the possibilities of home made transportation as well as the almost limitless
imaging options available with slit/scan photography.
In years past I worked with a variety of "moving film", cirkuit type panoramic cameras and I built contraptions for the road powered by gasoline. Today my vehicles are electric and my image capture is digital.
